Adamco supports Philippine rice productivity
With the theme: “Increasing Rice Production through Hybrid Rice Technology,” ADAMCO and Yanmar Philippines Corporation (YPC) joined the third National Rice Technology forum that held last September 27-29, 2016 at Bicol University in Polangui, Albay.
Over 1,100 farmers, extension workers, students, and other rice industry players from various regions attended the event as it showcased the advancements in rice production through hybrid rice technology. This event aimed to increase awareness and knowledge of Filipino farmers, and to promote the advantages and profitability of planting hybrid rice. This is also in-line with DA’s goal to make Philippine rice industry more competitive in addressing the daunting challenges that the agriculture sector faces such as achieving rice self-sufficiency, increasing farm productivity and mitigating the impact of climate change.
ADAMCO and YPC translates increasing farm productivity through the introduction of agricultural-machineries in farming such as the Yanmar EF393T farm tractor, Yanmar VP6D six-row mechanical rice transplanter, and Yanmar AW70v rice combine harvester. With ADAMCO’s mission to make farming easy and more profitable for farmers, machineries from land preparation to harvesting, are made available and accessible to Filipino farmers.
The said 3-day event is a collaborative effort of the Department of Agriculture (DA), Rice Productivity Advocacy Board in support of the National Rice Program, with different municipal and provincial local government units.
